The importance of iron in the food
The importance of iron
It is important that the newborn child absorbs some iron through maternal milk or milky preparations. This mineral is by itself essential for the healthy growth of the babies, in particular in the development of their brain. An iron deficiency can provoke some ferriprive anaemia, a serious illness which can pull a reduction of the duration of attention, psychomotor delays and a deficiency of the cognitive functions.
Between six and twelve months, todlers needs in iron are particularly hight. At this age, besides maternal milk or milky preparations, it is recommended to start eating some meat or substitutes of meat (p. eg, tofu, fish and vegetables). At this stage we advise you to use our products VitaMeal or PharmaMeal who take care of the health of your baby.
Generally, the introduction of solids at earli stage is done trough bootle-fed baby's (4 in 6 months) than by breast-fed babies (6 months and more). Last advice: the solid food completes the milk, but they do not replace it. It is not before nine to twelve months when it is recommended to offer some whole cow's milk (3,25 %) to your child.
